Much of the world is appalled at the events happening in the Middle East and the killings occurring there.
It would take far more that an article on a webpage to address the underlying factors causing the death and destruction that Israel is experiencing; however, I going to try to shed some light on the events. These factors go back thousands of years. Here are a few of the main events leading up to the events of today.
The Israelites became God's chosen people because of Abraham's faith. They are Abraham's offspring. God gave them the Promised Land--an area from the Nile River to the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea an area of 300,000 Sq. miles. In comparison Texas is 268,596 Sq. miles and Oklahoma is 69,000 plus Sq. miles; therefore the Promised Land is an area almost as big as Texas and Oklahoma combined. Israel is only a bit more that 8,000 Sq. miles.
God made many wonderful promises to the Israelites; however, those promises were predicated on the Israelites keeping God's commandments, which they failed to do and, therefore, never realized His promises.
If the Israelites had kept God commandments, He was going to set them high above the nations of the world, (Deut. 28:1) but if they failed to keep God's commandments, they would become a "byword among all the nations." Deut. 28:37. Rather than keep God's commandments, they killed His prophets.
To understand the turmoil in the Middle East today, we have to look to the original history of the peoples. The Israelites and the Arabs are the offspring of Abraham. The history is recorded in the 16th and 17th chapters of Genesis.
Abraham was the father of two sons. His wife, Sarai could not near children and so Abraham fathered a son by their handmaid, Hagar, an Egyptian, and named him Ishmael. This birth cause Saria to be jealous.
The Bible describes Ishmael as being "a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him." Gen. 16:12. However, Ishmael would be 'exceedingly fruitful, "and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee." Gen. 17:6.
Then Saria became Sarah, Gen. 17:19, and she birthed Isaac, Gen. 17:19, and he became the father of the Israelites. Of Isaac, God said, he would "multiple him exceedingly, twelve princes shall be begat, and I will make him a great nation. " Gen. 17:20..
The Jews and Arabs are half-brothers given that Ishmael's mother was an Egyptian.
Because of the Israelite's sinful ways, they got into a lot of trouble such as bondage in Egypt until God led them across the Red Sea into the Promised Land, etc. However, when a righteous leader led them they did well. However, they eventually lost control of their land for hundreds of years until 1948 when they regained a small part of the Promised Land. The events of 1948 were foretold in Ez. 37.
The prophet saw a valley of dry bones. Ez. 37:1. "And he said unto me, Son of Man, can these bones live? " Ez. 37:3. "Then he said unto me, Son of Man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold they say, Our bones are dead, and our hope is lost, we are cut off from our parts." Ez. 37:11.
The whole prophecy of Ez. has not been fulfilled yet, but it is in progress. There are several other prophecies in other books relating to the end times. We are seeing more Bible prophecy being fulfilled than any generation for 2,000 years.
Then when Christ came, they rejected Him and said, "his blood be upon us and our children." Matt. 27:25.
The Jews have paid an awful price for their sins, but they are still the apple of God's eye. Zech. 2:8.
War is raging in the Middle East with thousands suffering and dying, but God is in control.
The best that I can discern from history and Bible maps, the Palestinians were in what is now Israel before the Jews arrived from Egypt after crossing the Red Sea. The Palestinians may have been known as Philistines at that time, and they may be the heathens that God promised to punish the Israelites (Lev. 25 and 26). The "wages of sin is death," (Rom. 6:23) but the Jews haven't figured that out yet. Nevertheless, God gave the land from the Nile river (then known as the Egyptian river to the Euphrates river and to the Mediterranean Sea consisting of 300,000 square miles.
There is a way for peace in the Middle East. And the way for peace is simple, but unacceptable to both the Arabs and the Jews and that way to peace is to accept Jesus Christ as the promised savior, and the day shall come when this will happen but the time is not yet. The day will come when "every knee shall bow. . . and every tognue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." (Phil. 2:10--11) When that day arrives, the warlords shall "beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks:. . . . neither shall they learn war anymore." Is. 2:4. As of yet, "The way of peace they know not." Is. 59:8
The world's leaders today are doing exactly what the ungodly leaders of Israel did in the days of Jeremiah. When Jeremiah were trying to get the people to obey God's commandments, they rejected his counsel and devised their own solutions which did not work. Jeremiah said, "For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living water, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water." Jer. 2:13."
The world's leaders said World War I was to end all wars. It in fact was the war to end all peace. The world in large measure knew peace for nearly 400 years--from the mid-1400's until WW I--while Great Britain kept a boot on the necks of the Arabs in the Ottoman Empire, but this changed at the end of WW I when the Ottoman Empire was partly divided into the countries of the Middle East of today.
President Biden has met with the leader of China and has committed the country to dangerous policies. President Biden is still releasing funds to Iran as she continues to bankroll attacks on our military personnel. Even the Democrats in Congress would have voted to impeach and prosecute FDR if he had provided funds to Germany and Japan during WW II. However, the liberals will support and defend Biden without question because he supports their agenda.
President Biden's department heads continue to lie and perjury themselves before Congress with impunity. Why? The truth may be more serious than being convicted of a thousand counts of perjury.
